My Uncle told me when I was younger that the reason poor people are poor is as simple as poor people make more people before they make money. He would explain “I would have loved to have had a family in my 20s, but “I needed to get my act together”. He had my cousin (his first child) when he was 39, with my aunt who was 23. He basically said poor people don’t think about the future, just what they see in front of them. What money they have, they spend stupidly, i.e. on lottery tickets, cigarettes, liquor and not on university or stocks and bonds. He actually had a bumper sticker on the wall at his office that read “Education Before Procreation”
Do you think his explanation is too simplistic, or is it a harsh non-PC view that needs to said?

Your Uncle had(or has) a very ignorant view on poor people to rich people. Its harder than he makes it seems to get a career. Some people are born into wealthy families that have had money for generations, others are born into not so rich families that have to save and save and save to even get money for the rent. Its not Education Before Procreation’. My mom had a great career when she had me, we had a good home, enough food in the house, blah blah blah. But then my father died and we had to move becuase we couldnt afford the house anymore. 10 years later we live in HUD housing and we have to get 30 dollars in food stamps every month. And I know girls who were rich and got pregnant at 15. Dont take what he said to heart. Cause its wrong. Why dont you go to the soup kitchen and ask the people how they ended up having to go there to eat. I promise they will tell you.
